The Role
We are seeking experienced Trade Assistants to support Licensed Gas Fitters with pipe-fitting and assembly at a cutting-edge R&D facility in Melbourne's inner west. This is a unique opportunity to work with emerging technologies, contributing to the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced gas infrastructure. It's a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in technical environments and takes pride in maintaining safe, efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support trades with equipment positioning and installation
- Use hand and power tools to assemble and install components
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble stainless and mild steel tube and pipe
- Interpret and work from isometric and P&ID drawings
- Liaise with engineers, technicians, and suppliers regarding design, testing, and parts
- Update and mark up technical drawings as required
- Support commissioning and testing activities
About You
Highly regarded:
- Forklift Licence
- Background in engineering, fabrication, or heavy industry
- Experience surrounding pipework, including measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and assembling stainless and mild steel tube and pipe will be highly advantageous.
You are reliable, safety-focused, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
