THE ROLE

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative business, primarily involved in advanced research and development of zero-emissions technology and manufacturing processes.

The role involves supporting the development, testing, and implementation of new processes and equipment in a research-focused environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mechanical design, assembly, testing, operation, and maintenance of research equipment and systems.
  • Thermal analysis, simulation and design
  • Collaborating with technical and trade staff to build and refine equipment.
  • Supporting laboratory and workshop activities, including installation, commissioning, and development of test methods.
  • Preparing safety assessments and establishing procedures for new equipment and processes.
  • Maintaining records and data management systems for engineering and testing activities.
  • Contributing to project planning, documentation, and reporting as required.

ABOUT YOU
Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
  • Qualifications in quality management, process improvement, or related fields (desirable).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in engineering design
  • Experience with mechanical and thermal analysis, design calculations, simulations, or modelling.
  • Experience managing design and technical data.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, risk assessment, and safety procedures is highly desirable.
  • Experience in research, development, or testing of technical systems.
